Our high-quality tea using the whole panicle of the Sideritis Scardica is grown in northern Greece in the Rhodope mountains at almost 1000m altitude by mountain farmers in small eco-farms. The seedlings are grown from seeds of the wild plant and planted after 3 months. It takes 3 years for the plant to come into the first bloom. The flowers are carefully picked by hand and dried in drying halls.
Greek Mountain tea is rich in essential oils and its blossoms, stems and leaves set free the scent of fresh herbs with a hint of lemon when infused. Traditionally the mountain tea is sweetened with honey.
Preparation: 1-2 whole panicles per cup (approx. 200 ml) | Water temperatur 100°C | brewing time 4-6 min.
